A Message From The Principal

Message from the Principal:

Welcome to the 2014-2015 school year!  Thank you for visiting our webpage and we hope that you will find the information needed to get your students off to a great start!  I am so excited about the possibilities that a new, fresh beginning creates for all of us at Fairfield Elementary School.  We extend a hearty welcome to all of our new students and their families as well as our students and families who are returning.  We are more eager than ever to work with each of you as we continue on this journey of increasing student achievement.

We are happy to announce our new mascot which is the “STINGRAY”.  Students will have the opportunity to name our new mascot when they return to school.  The first day of school for students is August 18, 2014Our Meet and Greet will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 4-6.  Classroom assignments will be posted in the hall during the meet and greet.  School supplies will also be given out at this event.

Our maintenance staff has done a superb job in renovating our student restrooms to include new fixtures, lighting, sinks, etc.  Our walls received a fresh coat of paint and we are ready to get our learning environment finished so that we can receive our students on the first day of school.  School pride is essential to getting the year off to a great start.  Parent and Students letters were sent out a few weeks ago and included in the packet were the REMIND 101 instructions to receive text alerts.  Be sure to sign up so that you can stay in the loop.

Other reminders include the following:

* Uniforms include Red, Royal Blue, or Navy Blue Polo Shirts, Tan Khaki bottoms, black or brown belt, and white, brown, or black shoes.

* The Early Dismissal Policy will continue and no student will be dismissed after 1:30 due to the missing of instructional time.  Please make arrangements to pick up your student from the car rider line beginning at 2:30 p.m. daily.

* Please make sure that your child has completed their summer reading projects.  All projects are due August 29th.

All students will be able to eat free breakfast and lunch for the 2014-2015 school year.  Breakfast in the classroom will end at 8:00 a.m. so that the day can begin.  If your child is a car rider, please be sure that students arrive by 7:30 so that they will have enough time to eat.

* Please discuss the code of conduct and expectations with your child.

* The school supply list is on the website and please note no rolling book bags.

* We included a box top template form to make it easier for your child to turn in box tops.  We need your support for this project.  If you need more forms, please let us know.

We look forward to an exciting school year, and by working together, our students are destined to excel as we sail from ordinary to extraordinary, Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day!

Educationally yours,
